The Minnesota legislative session begins on Tuesday in St. Paul. Minnesota Farm Bureau Northwest Area Program Director Riley Maanum will be watching the upcoming session closely. “It is trickier to develop areas of focus in a bonding year. Certainly, Section 179 conformity and the like-kind exchange issue is having an impact on farmers. That will be one of our priorities.” Maanum also says water continues to be a priority. “Part of my job is to continue to make sure agriculture is at the table. There are also some things coming on water quality, though we have a water quantity issue.”
