According to the latest Purdue University/CME Group Ag Economy Barometer, the January barometer increased 17 points from December to 167. The improvement in expectations is due primarily to the signing of the phase one trade agreement with China. Sixty-nine percent of farmers expect the soybean trade dispute to be settled soon. The survey also asked farmers about farm program sign up. Fifty-seven percent of farmers in the survey are still uncertain which program they’ll choose. Yet, among those who have decided, 23 percent of respondents will be selecting the Price Loss Coverage program. The Ag Economy Barometer is based on a mid-month survey of 400 U.S. agricultural producers. Check out the latest survey results.
