CHS reports first quarter net income of nearly $178 million. That’s down from $347.5 million in the same quarter last year. The demand for farm inputs and crop nutrient products was hurt by the late and smaller harvest. Ongoing trade tensions also influenced grain volumes and margins. CHS’s propane business was up, helped by a late harvest and a bump in demand for grain drying.
