The Marketing Edible Artificial Truthfully (MEAT) Act has been introduced in U.S. Senate, addressing the labeling on plant-based meat. It aims to establish a definition of beef for labels, reinforces existing misbranding to eliminate consumer confusion and enhances the government’s ability to enforce the law. In October, the U.S. House of Representatives introduced a companion bill.
