Ada, Minnesota farmer Neil Rockstad was elected chair of the Red River Valley Sugarbeet Growers Association this week. “Sugar has had some successes on the political front,” says Rockstad. “We’ll keep working together to forward those movements.” The association held their annual meeting in Fargo on Thursday. Former chairman Dan Younggren says one of the good takeaways from the meeting was the news a suspension agreement was initialed between the U.S. and Mexico. “That’s a big win. Stability and security is what we’re looking for and striving for.”
