North Dakota Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring will be in Washington, D.C. Tuesday to meet with Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue. The historic harvest season will be among the issues discussed. “I don’t think there is a playbook written for 2019 cropping year and harvest season, which may turn into the 2020 harvest season.” North Dakota has a couple million acres of corn still standing. “The challenge now is how do we make something out of what is left out here especially with the standing corn. We’re hearing corn that is light in test weight and mold issues.” Goehring advises growers to contact their crop insurance agent and lender.
