Lawmakers didn’t get the U.S. Mexico Canada Agreement ratified before Thanksgiving recess. Minnesota Congresswoman Angie Craig says a few hurdles remain. “Let’s make sure we don’t inadvertently raise prescription drug prices for Americans. It sounds like there’s progress being made on that point. The last remaining hurdle is to make sure Mexico enforces the labor standards they have agreed to improve.” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the Trump administration are trading drafts of the agreement, but Craig hasn’t seen anything yet. “The one thing you can say about Speaker Pelosi is she can count and so can the trade ambassador. They won’t put a final draft in front of us until it’s at a point it will pass the U.S. Congress, but we’re close.”
