The competition for land remains strong. Farmers National Company Assistant Vice President Grant Fitzgerald says farmers are still looking for farm ground and aggressively bidding for land. The down farm economy has generated more interest in a modified cash rental arrangement. “Some people have gone down on the base rent, but they have added some flex to it. The farmer will say if prices go up during the year, the landowner will see some of those benefits as well.”
