Before the recent wet weather, farmers in the Michigan, North Dakota area were able to start soybean harvest. “Their happy with yields so far,” says Josh Forde of FK Seed. “But, the rest of the harvest season isn’t going to be as fun.” The wet conditions may influence standability for the corn crop. Pioneer territory manager Kristie Sundeen, who covers portions of northern North Dakota and northern Minnesota, says farmers need to be checking corn fields. “If issues start arising, such as root rot, prioritize those fields.” White mold is an issue in sunflowers, which can also impact the standability of the crop.
