South America’s planting season is off to a slow start. “Especially in Brazil, the soybeans are about two percent planted,” said Michael Cordonnier, president, Soybean and Corn Advisor. “It’s been a slow, uneven start to the summer rainy season.” Argentina’s planting progress is about at its average pace. “The corn is about 20 percent planted. Few, if any, of the soybeans are planted. Conditions are quite dry, especially in the western areas.”
