Traders are beginning to prepare for Monday’s USDA grain stocks report. “There are lots of variables out there,” said John Heinberg, senior market advisor, Total Farm Marketing. “It will be a big weight on the markets if there is still a large corn supply.” There is also some uncertainty on the maturing corn across the Midwest. Red River Farm Network asked Heinberg if crop condition ratings really matter this time of year. “With the lateness of the crop, the updates can give us hope if the crop can make it to the finish line,” he said. “The corn is turning and the weather could either help the corn dry or make things wetter in the fields.”
