CHS Hedging market analyst Steve Wagner thinks weather is a bigger factor for the Northern Plains than the rest of the Corn Belt. “Nerves get jangled when the wheat harvest moves into September. As far as moisture, we’re sitting very well.” Wagner says the corn and soybeans are good, just late. “With no risk in the immediate future with frost, the market seems content to think it’s a big crop,” he says. “We’re at a point in the market where we’re knocking on the lows in corn and the same in soybeans and wheat.
