USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service is projecting lower corn, soybean and wheat production for Minnesota this year. Minnesota corn production is forecast at 1.28 billion bushels, down six percent from last year. USDA NASS says corn yields are forecast at 173 bushels/acre, a decline of nine bushels from one year ago. Corn planted acreage is at 7.9 million planted acres and 7.4 million harvested acres for corn. Minnesota soybean production is forecast at 314 million bushels, down 19 percent from last year. The soybean yield is forecast at 46 bushels/acre, a 4.5 bushel decline from one year ago. Soybean planted acreage is at 6.9 million and harvested acres are at 6.82 million. Spring wheat production is estimated at 91.8 million bushels, a one percent decline from 2018. Yield is forecast at 62 bushels/acre, unchanged from the July forecast.
