A bipartisan group of U.S. senators is asking the Trump Administration to address Canada’s restrictions on U.S. grain within the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement. The lawmakers point to Canada’s Variety Registration System that limits the varieties of wheat that can be in its premium classes. The letter to agricultural trade negotiator Gregg Doud has been signed by North Dakota Senators Hoeven and Cramer, Minnesota Senator Smith and Montana Senator Daines.
