According to the June acreage report, South Dakota farmers planted 4.8 million acres of corn and 4.4 million acres of soybeans. Corn acreage is down nine percent from last year and soybean acreage is down 22 percent. Spring wheat is at a record low of 800,000 acres, down 24 percent from 2018.
