On Wednesday, Minnesota Senator Tina Smith and Indiana Senator Todd Young introduced the Advancing Emergency Preparedness Through One Health Act. The bill aims to improve public health preparedness to prevent and respond to disease outbreaks. Particularly, it would coordinate efforts between those studying animal and human health by requiring the Department of Health and Human Services and the Agriculture Department to adopt a One Health framework.
