Republican lawmakers are calling for the U.S. Mexico Canada Agreement to be ratified, but House Speaker Nancy Pelosi isn’t ready yet. Senate Majority Whip John Thune called for ratification of the U.S. Mexico Canada Agreement on the Senate floor Thursday. “The USMCA is ready to go. Republicans in Congress are ready to pass it,” he said. “Now House Speaker Nancy Pelosi needs to indicate her willingness to take up the agreement in the near future.” Pelosi is unlikely to bring the USMCA to the floor without the majority support of Democrats. Pelosi previously said new provisions are key in the USMCA, especially labor rights.
