The National Sunflower Association is hosting their Summer Seminar in late June. NSA Executive Director John Sandbakken says sessions will start with a young farmer panel. “We’ll have producers from North Dakota and South Dakota talk about how they make decisions and give some good insight of what’s in the mind of a young producer,” he says. “We’ll also have a session on sunflower oil and consumer food trends.” The keynote speaker is USDA Risk Management Agency Administrator Martin Barbre. Sandbakken says sunflower producers are interested in learning more about the new products available and tweaks expected in crop insurance policies. “Will things become more inclusive? Overall, farmers want to know what better coverage is possible for producers.” The seminar begins on Tuesday, June 25 and wraps up Thursday, June 27 in Medora. Download the event schedule.
