According to a new USDA report on the use of antimicrobials in cattle feedlots, nearly 88 percent of all feedlots gave antimicrobials to their cattle in 2016. However, only eight percent of the feedyards contacted by USDA participated in the study. The National Cattlemen’s Beef Association says the low sampling rate raises questions about the validity of the data.
