The Trump Administration will provide a $15 billion assistance package to U.S. farmers. President Donald Trump said the United States is taking in billions of dollars in tariffs from the Chinese and American farmers will receive a small portion of that. “China will be retaliating to a “We’re going to take the highest year for purchases that China has ever made with our farmers, which is about $15 billion, and do something reciprocal to our farmers,” said Trump. “Our farmers will be able to sell for less and make the same kind of money until such time as it is all straightened out; our farmers will be very happy.” The details surrounding the assistance plan have not been announced. This will be the second round of trade mitigation relief for farmers, following last year’s $12 billion Market Facilitation Program.
