This is the final year for Joel Larsen to participate in the Minnesota FFA Convention as the state FFA advisor. Larsen has been in that role since 1995. The FFA has grown during that time and the demand remains strong for ag education. “Right now, we have 40 openings for (agriculture) teachers,” said Larsen. “Of those 40 openings, more than 20 of them are additional teachers or new programs that want to start up.” Larsen will retire this fall. Nearly 4,000 members from 80 FFA chapters are at this year’s Minnesota FFA Convention.
