The International Sugarbeet Institute is a time for farmers to connect ahead of planting. There is hope sugarbeet growers can get in the field by mid-April. “The weather seems to be cooperating, because it’s starting to warm up slowly,” said Mohamed Khan, Extension Sugarbeet Specialist for North Dakota State University and the University of Minnesota. “Hopefully, farmers can get most of our planting done by the end of April if all goes well.” There is a trade show and featured speakers will look at sugar prices. The two-day event is Wednesday and Thursday at the Fargodome.
