The Midwest Shippers Association and the Northern Food Grade Soybean Association have merged to become the Specialty Soya and Grain Alliance. “We focus on soya because internationally that is how soy is explained,” said Tom Slunecka, who leads the association management firm that will oversee the new organization. “This is a very customer-focused organization that will create opportunities for farmers are over the U.S.” The SSGA received a $1.5 million USDA grant to begin operations.
