Speaking on a farmer panel at Commodity Classic, Winnebago, Minnesota farmer Todd Golly said plant health is the reason he uses fungicide on his corn. “We have plant health issues every year, whether it’s too much water or drought. With the new fungicides coming out on the market, the plant health aspect is getting more important every year. There’s definitely bushels to capture.” According to Golly, the new digital technologies will verify a return on investment in fungicide treatment. “Try it on your farm. Don’t be afraid to change to something different and do some on-farm trials.”
