Sugarbeet grower seminars are being held across the region, including a session in Grand Forks today and Wahpeton on Tuesday. Betaseed sales manager Lynn Dusek says valuable information will be offered. “Whether it is disease resistance or weed control or insects, the meetings get us back thinking about this upcoming growing season.” As beet seed decisions are made, Dusek reminds growers to fully assess their situation. “Consider what pests you’ve had in the past, like rhizoctonia, aphanomyces or root maggot, and make variety changes if needed.”
