Healthcare, buffers and property taxes were discussed as Minnesota Farmers Union members met with state lawmakers in St. Paul Tuesday. Windom, Minnesota farmer and board member Ted Winter says healthcare is really expensive. “We’re stuck with the high bill of healthcare and no way to pay it,” explains Winter. “We’re looking for ways to try and find some way to buy costs down.” As part of the organization’s annual lobby day, the group also met with Governor Tim Walz and the newly appointed Agriculture Commissioner Thom Petersen.
