The government shutdown is still top-of-mind. Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley told reporters there are people in the Office of Management and Budget trying to find a way to keep as many government services as possible. “They’re making a real determined effort to soften the blow of the government shutdown for as many constituents as they can.” Grassley hopes the administration has something ready for 42 million people who may not get food stamps after March 1 if the government shutdown continues.
