USDA Farm Service Agency offices temporarily reopened Thursday and Friday. Due to the Martin Luther King Holiday, offices are closed today, but open Tuesday. Services will be limited, with most of the focus on existing farm loans to ensure farmers and ranchers can access 1099 tax documents. Staff members will be able to process payments and continue expiring financial statements. Information on locations that will be open during the three-day window is posted on the USDA website. As a reminder, the original deadline to apply for Market Facilitation Program payments was extended and and new applications can be processed once the government shutdown ends.
