NDFB and the Ramsey County Farm Bureau have filed a lawsuit against Grant Harbor Township. The farm groups claim the township has gone beyond the limits of the law with denial of a hog barn building permit near Devils Lake, North Dakota. NDFB President Daryl Lies says the lawsuit is about protecting personal property rights. “The township has gone beyond the limits of the law to regulate farms. This makes it impossible for the next generation to get into the livestock business,” says Lies. “We need a livestock industry enhancement in North Dakota. When you do wrong things against our constitution and state laws, we’re going to make sure you’re accountable for your actions.”
