Pat Roberts, Chairman of the Senate Agriculture Committee, will not seek re-election in 2020. Roberts made the announcement Friday. “I will not be a candidate in 2020 for a fifth Senate term. I just think it’s time.” Roberts also reflected on the recent passage of the farm bill. “When you’re able to get a historic vote in the Senate, 87 votes for a farm bill, and have it be bipartisan, that’s unheard of. When you achieve something like that, I don’t think I can top it. We will try.”
