The U.S. and China are beginning the week with trade talks in Beijing. The meeting is described as vice ministerial level trade negotiations. A working team led by Deputy U.S. Trade Ambassador Jeffrey Gerrish will be at the table. Presidents Trump and Xi have declared a ‘cease fire’ and are holding off on imposing additional tariffs so the two sides can negotiate an agreement. Without a deal by March 1, the U.S. is expected to move forward with another bump in tariff rates for Chinese products.
