The Minnesota DNR has granted a permit for the Fargo-Moorhead flood diversion project. The so-called Plan B plan. DNR Commissioner Tom Landwehr said this is a balanced approach and will reduce the flood risk in the Fargo-Moorhead area while protecting public safety and the environment. Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton and North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum praised the news. “This project will protect a crucial economic engine for the entire state of North Dakota and western Minnesota,” said Burgum. A temporary court injunction is still in place and must be addressed before this infrastructure project can move forward.
