American Farm Bureau Federation Vice President Scott VanderWal attended Thursday’s farm bill signing ceremony. Moving into a New Year, the Volga, South Dakota farmer and rancher says the new bill provides much needed assurance for agriculture. “That’s important as we move into loan renewal season for farmers and ranchers,” says VanderWal. “It’s budget neutral and improves risk management tools, along with protecting crop insurance.” Now, the focus shifts to implementation of the new bill. “The whole country may think it’s over with, but really the work is just beginning. Congress will be watching the process and make sure the bill is implemented in the way it was written.”
