According to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, livestock haulers can continue to run on paper logs “until further notice.” Currently, livestock haulers fall under a temporary electronic logging device implementation exemption. The FMCSA states haulers do not need to carry documentation about the exemption. A draft fiscal year 2019 government spending bill includes a provision that would delay ELD implementation for livestock haulers until September 30, 2019.
