The HarvXtra Alfalfa trait gives the farmer the flexibility to produce higher-quality forage or delay harvest to enhance yield potential. WinField United alfalfa agronomist Randy Welch says this technology will handled differently from conventional alfalfa. “This idea of cutting five-or-six times in the Midwest is a very costly venture,” said Welch. “If we can take one of those cuttings out, it is a cost savings to our growers. HarvXtra is going to change the way we grow and manage alfalfa.” For farmers wanting high quality forage, Welch says HarvXtra will be come as standard as GPS and air conditioning in your truck.
