During his time as a farm business management instructor, Josh Tjosass has seen some common marketing mistakes, including “not having a plan or not following through on a plan; not knowing your exact costs of production or getting caught up in some complicated contracts and strategies that you don’t completely understand,” Tjosaas is with the Northland College farm business management program based in Moorhead. It has been an unusual year with a large amount of soybeans in storage. There has to be a plan for those beans. “It is not a hope chest, we need to turn bins into a profit or a cash-maker.”
