China has made its first significant purchase of U.S. soybeans since early July. That’s when China retaliated against the large tariffs imposed by the Trump Administration. On Thursday, USDA reported 1.13 million metric tons (41.5 million bushels) of U.S. soybeans were sold to China for 2018-19. Friday morning, China purchased an additional 300,000 metric tons of U.S. soybeans. The majority of that business will go through the Pacific Northwest.
