Farmers are in a wait-and-see on the second round of Market Facilitation Program payments. The payments were supposed to be announced by early December. North Dakota Senator John Hoeven chairs the Senate Agriculture Appropriations Committee. He says there’s work being done to move forward on the payment. “It depends how much China steps up,” says Hoeven. “If those purchases don’t step up in quantity and sufficiently soon, we’ll keep working to help farmers with payments.”
