The U.S. soybean processing industry is going through its biggest expansion phase in 20 years. That includes a new soybean processing plant in Aberdeen that will start production with the 2019 crop. Depending on the availability of funding, a plant will also be built in North Dakota within three years. According to a new CoBank report, the short-term outlook for the soybean processing business is good, but excess capacity may be an issue by the end of next year.
