Straight cutting canola has become a game changer. Traditionally, many farmers didn’t grow canola because of the investment in equipment. “Now with pod shatter technology, it’s easier for farmers to raise because there’s no additional cost on the equipment side,” says BASF InVigor Canola lead Kristie Sundeen. While InVigor name is under a new brand, Sundeen assures farmers the seed is the same. “There is a new hybrid available, L234P. It’s early maturing like L233P, but has an additional clubroot trait and has the pod shatter technology.”
