North Dakota lawmakers are digesting the details of Governor Burgum’s 2019-2021 budget. State Senator Terry Wanzek is the vice-chairman of the Senate appropriations committee. He wants to better understand the use of $300 million in legacy fund earnings for one-time projects. “There’s money in this for research. I don’t know if that includes agriculture. I know there’s an Unmanned Aerial System research project included,” said Wanzek. “Altogether, there are nine different projects.” Lawmakers will review the budget details and conduct research between now and the start of the legislative session in January.
