Cover crops continue to show promise for no-till and strip-till farmers. During the Northern Ag Expo, NSDU Extension Soil Health Specialist Abby Wick told farmers there is more than one way to use cover crops. “We always talk about using cover crops after wheat, with that being the gateway to cover crops. The way I’ve found it successfully is interseeding corn, then going to soybeans and wheat, followed by a cover crop,” says Wick. “It shows there’s more than one way to do this. I hope people are looking at all parts of their rotation, considering cover crops.
