Earlier this year, the Environmental Protection Agency proposed 2.43 billion gallons of biodiesel be made available for users in 2020 (via the Renewable Fuel Standard). That’s a 300-million-gallon increase from 2019. National Biodiesel Board Director of Outreach and Development Tom Verry says the biodiesel industry is happy with the proposed numbers. “The industry can easily support 2.8 billion gallons for 2020. When the final number comes out, we hope it’s closer to 2.8 billion gallons. Either way, the numbers will continue the path of growth for the industry.”
