As of November 1, U.S. feedlots held 11.7 million head of cattle, three percent more than one year ago, but below the average trade estimate. USDA’s Cattle on Feed report says placements in October were four percent below the average trade guess at 2.2 million head. October marketings are five percent above last year and at the top end of trade guesses at 1.9 million head.
