American Crystal Sugar Company and Big Sky Sugar Cooperative signed a non-binding letter of intent which will result in Big Sky taking ownership of the Sidney, Montana processing plant. Big Sky Cooperative was formed in 2017 by sugarbeet growers who deliver beets to the Sidney Sugars facility. American Crystal Sugar has run the plant as a wholly-owned subsidiary after purchasing it from Holly Sugar 16 years ago.
