The Chief Agricultural Negotiator in the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, Gregg Doud, is unsure how the upcoming meeting between the U.S. and China will go ahead of the G20 Summit. Doud hopes it will start a conversation. “This is the issue of our time, between the U.S. and China,” says Doud. “Next year at this time, I hope we’re talking about moving the ball forward, making progress. I hope we’re talking about an accomplishment with regards to Japan. I hope we’ll have other countries we’re talking about as well, and I think we’ll still be grousing about how difficult Europe is.”
