South Dakota Representative Kristi Noem will be moving from her office on Capitol Hill to the governor’s office in Pierre. In one of the closest gubernatorial elections in recent memory for South Dakota, Noem defeated Senate Minority Leader Billie Sutton with a vote of 51 percent to 47 percent. Dusty Johnson easily won South Dakota’s lone congressional seat. Johnson had served as South Dakota Governor Dennis Daugaard’s chief of staff and also spent time as a senior policy advisor to then-South Dakota Governor Mike Rounds.
