The Environmental Protection Agency is telling university weed specialists a decision on dicamba registration still hasn’t been made. Dicamba registration expires November 9. North Dakota Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring says it’s unfortunate for farmers trying to make decisions for next year. Goehring also says there was strong push back in August on talk of possible restrictions, when EPA considered something for the entire U.S. “That sounds good in theory, but North Dakota is not Tennessee. Arkansas is not North Dakota. You can’t just have a free-for-all when we have ways of mitigating in our own states. EPA didn’t like the confusion caused last year with different labels. I believe going forward if we had to do a new label, there would only be one or two things on label versus seven or eight.”
