Casselton, North Dakota farmer Joe Morken has finished his sugarbeet and soybean harvest. Morken says sugarbeet tonnage and sugars could have been better with more timely rains. “The latest company report expected the crop to come in around 29 ton (per acre), which is down from last year. Sugars are in the 18’s, but it’s still nothing to complain about being right around average.” Soybean harvest was a similar story for Morken, with bushels coming in about average. “Again, nothing to complain about. At least there was something to harvest, so we have to be thankful about that.”
