Potato harvest in the Red River Valley is at a halt due to the wet conditions. NoKota Packers President Steve Tweten says overall quality of the fresh potatoes is variable. “Last year, we had a very large crop, nice quality and a severe truck shortage. This year, from what I’m hearing from others, we’re going to have average to below average tonnage,” says Tweten. “That should translate into needing fewer trucks so we can move the crop more timely and make things happen when needed.”
